grating grading
grading really is a sore subject for me – i want pretty much nothing more to understand it – its the only concrete piece of science that our art depends on….then the light. d.o.b pretty much rocked the house and set us into a state of awe. i know he has better things to do than teach us grading, but considering we could learn more in 2 days from him than 1.5 years of buck and frank…i mean really – buck doesnt even HAVE autocad ON HIS COMPUTER. that doesnt bode well. no wonder the assignments dont jive with the drawings. and he gives me an 83. phhht.
plaster disaster
sometimes experimenting brings exactly what you dont want - a huge huge mess. but my approach this time…not to start over and try something else bc that’s what i always always do. then i start jumping around all over the place, frustrated with myself and what ends up being a lack of concentration. ya, so my model – its not pretty right now. its more awkward than a gorilla on a tricycle (spence says that a lot – its funny) but i am going to keep working on it – i think there are ways to save it but my initial reaction is to chunk it. we’ll see how it goes.
